A Home Golf setup
that Paid Off
for Everyone
In Denmark, where winter limits the game for months, one family built a golf simulator in their backyard to keep playing, improving, and spending time together. What began as a practical solution quickly became a cornerstone of family life — and ultimately a performance platform they hadn’t seen coming.
A Shared Passion
for the Game
A passionate golfer, scratch player, and father of three living in Denmark, Jonas Meyer wanted a way for his golf-crazy family to spend time together and keep improving year-round — even during the long, cold Danish winters. So the Meyers built a simulator setup in their garden, creating a space where golf improvement and family fun never ends. For Jonas, the simulator wasn’t just about improving his own game — it was about having something the whole family could share and benefit from.

One vision.
One journey.
Entirely theirs.
The project began during the pandemic, when time allowed them to take on something new. Despite having no prior building experience, they chose to take full ownership — designing and building the annex themselves to ensure it fit perfectly into their home and everyday life. Every decision was shaped by how they wanted to use the space as a family. The process relied on curiosity, research, and quite a few YouTube videos, but came with a strong sense of accomplishment.

No compromises.
Orange on the inside
Choosing Trackman was both a practical and emotional decision, rooted in performance, trust, and familiarity with the brand. The Meyers were aware of its industry-leading accuracy and that the technology is preferred by pros worldwide. For Jonas, it wasn’t just about having a simulator — it was about having one they could fully rely on for real improvement.
“When you see the PGA pros, they use Trackman … If you're into the game of golf, I think you know what the best option is.”

A few steps to
anytime golf
With the simulator just steps from their house, golf naturally merged with everyday life rather than being something requiring planning or travel. Stepping in for a quick solo session or a fun family evening of games and competition was simple — practice was suddenly more spontaneous and consistent.
“The fact that we have a simulator setup so close to our living room makes it quite easy to go and hit a bucket of balls, play a game or compete. We’ve doubled our training — not just me, but the wife and kids too.”

when learning
feels like play
Trackman’s data has fundamentally changed how the Meyer kids understand and approach the game. They’re not just practicing — they’re learning how their swing works, how to adjust it, and how to repeat it consistently. This has accelerated their development, giving them a level of insight that would otherwise take years to build. At the same time, practicing with friends keeps it social, engaging, and fun.
“The biggest improvement with our kids is their ability to reproduce the same golf swing over and over again. They know everything about a golf swing today because of the data you get out of Trackman.”

A challenge fit
for Faldo
What started as casual practice at home quickly evolved into something much bigger. Emil discovered the Faldo Virtual Series and began competing directly from the simulator, turning daily practice into structured competition. He spent hours playing, refining his game, and challenging himself against players from around the world. It became a central focus during the winter months, blending motivation, discipline, and enjoyment.

From backyard
golf to the
British masters
The dedication paid off in a big way. Emil won the January challenge and qualified for the final at the British Masters — an achievement that started entirely from their garden setup. It highlighted how consistent access to high-quality practice can translate into real competitive success. For the family, it was both a proud moment and proof of what the simulator made possible.
“Emil won the January challenge and went to play in the Faldo Virtual Series final at the British Masters — at one point he led the tournament. I'm pretty sure that having the home setup made the entire difference.”

The complete
golf experience
The backyard simulator setup has allowed the Meyers to practice with purpose, while also enjoying games, courses, competition, and social play — golf is integrated into their lifestyle all year round. As Trackman continues to evolve with new features and content, the experience remains fresh and engaging to them.
“We use the Trackman simulator for a little bit of everything — we use it year-round, not just during winter. Trackman keeps developing more games, features, and new courses, so we keep using it more and more.”

Moments that
matter most
Beyond performance and competition, the simulator has created a space for connection — especially during the long, dark winter months. It’s where the family comes together to relax, compete, and enjoy each other’s company in a warm and comfortable setting. These shared experiences have become some of their most valued memories. It’s not just about golf — it’s about time spent together.
“The best memory must be all dark hours in the winter where we just enjoyed ourselves inside as a family. It's warm, you have a cup of coffee, play a lot of games and have a lot of quality time together. That's something we really like.”
