As Trackman keeps growing, we are constantly striving to further develop, produce and deploy our market-leading sport tracking solutions. We are looking for an expert in embedded application development on Linux with great people skills to take responsibility for a team of highly dedicated engineers working on current- and the next generation of embedded SW platform radar. 


Job Description: 

Trackman products convert raw data from Doppler radar signals to measure ball and equipment kinematics for sports. A patented combination of camera and radar fuses the radar signal with information from video feeds and other sensors. This provides extremely accurate, valuable insights for athletes ranging from top world-class professionals to enthusiastic amateurs, as well as coaches, scouts, and clubs of all levels. 


The Embedded teams primary task is to develop the SW controlling the radar and all its sensors. Our HW platforms range from Intel-, Arm Cortex-A and NVIDIA processors running embedded Linux. Real-time HW are controlled by ARM microcontrollers running either FreeRTOS or Zephyr. Besides controlling the Radar and highspeed Cameras through FPGAs we support external interfaces such as Ethernet, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth & USB, various internal interfaces, and sensors such as hall sensors, gyros, GPS, and inclinometers. 


About the role:

Your primary role will be to lead, coach and develop the team while driving the technical direction /discussions with the team. As it is a newly established role you will have the opportunity to shape the role. You will continue to strengthen the team by hiring strong talent and ensuring a good onboarding for the new employees. You will assist team members in prioritizing tasks and coach them to find the best solutions, while ensuring that work processes are documented, and knowledge shared across the team to leverage outcomes and solutions. 

The Embedded Software team today consists of 8 people.

Requirements

  • The ideal candidate is most likely a senior developer with good people management skills, who has experience of working with embedded C++ application development on Linux. You probably have at least five years of experience from the relevant industry. 
  • Preferably, you have already have experience in leadership by having filled a role such as Architect, Lead developer, Scrum Master or Team lead.


Qualifications: 

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or a related field; Master's degree preferred. 
  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to effectively collaborate with cross-functional teams and articulate technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders. 
  • Proven leadership abilities, with a track record of leading and mentoring teams to deliver high-quality software solutions on schedule and within budget. 
  • Skills in programming, developments tools and near real-time systems. 
  • Software development and programming skills within C++ and Python. 
  • Knowledge about build pipelines, build testing and deployment tools. 
  • Experience with AZURE DevOps and the Scrum process is an advantage. 


People management skills: 

  • Effective in individual and group communication. 
  • Experience in coaching and sparring. 
  • Skills in facilitating teamwork and good group dynamics. 
  • Experience in setting the direction and prioritizing. 
  • Successful in empowering others by establishing psychological safety, trust, and accountability.
